I bought a 50 lot from ebay and they are in my 90, they seem to be doing well for me. They supposedly only last a year or 2 in a reef tank. They have an unlimited appetite though, keep my tank very clean so far (2 months)

At first I was skeptical. I went ahead because it was such a good deal for 200 snails.
I bought 200 about 6 months ago. Sold 50, traded 50 and have 100 in the tank. All are well so far. Make sure they are not collected in cooler water. Mine were collected from an individual in FL. When I put them in my macro algae tank they laid eggs everywhere. I have many babies now.

Their price and crunchiness makes them great and affordable mantis food.

From what I've read, they are hardy, reef safe, and are pretty good for the price.

But they are temperate snails and don't live for a long time in 80ΒΊ reef tanks.

Ilyanassa obsoleta snails are indeed predatory on beneficial sandbed infauna.
