Wink RO/DI and protein skimmers

I have a couple of questions here. I am looking to buy a protein skimmer and an RO/DI for my system. I am close to getting water in my tank and getting it up and going. I am leaning towards a coralife skimmer. What is the difference in the needle wheel and the venturi model. Also, what is a good brand of an RO/DI system? I was looking at Marine depots site. Thanks, Gregg

1st of if you can get a better skimmer like an ASM or the like it may be better. you dont want a venturi as they require a seperate pressure rated feed pump and make a lot of noise imo

needle wheel skimmers have the pumps attached to the body of the skimmer....

as far as an RODI unit goes....

http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1TYPHOONIII

http://www.purelyh2o.com/

are a few good units...

I also have the typhoon III from airwaterice, very happy with it and great customer service. euroreef and asm are both good, been hearing about the new octopus skimmers also, guess they are decent and cheap.
