Moldy Looking Algae?

My system has been running for over 1-1/2 years. I had to remove my Astrea Snails because of Pyramid Snails. Then, I started getting this moldy looking stuff growing on the substrate edges and some of the LR. The LR was always spotless before. I have since added a dozen Astreas, but it doesn't seam to be disappearing.

When I remove it, it looks like a mucusy slimmy glob. It is really gross. It isn't growing everwhere, but in enough places to be a pain. I have checked my Nitrates and they read 0 with the Seilfert Kit.

I don't have any photos. Does anybody have any idea what it is? Or how to get rid of it?

I have seen Cyano before. Is there different kinds of it? This isn't a red slime. It's more of a thick glob. It gets about 1/2" thick and feels really nasty when I put it off the bottom, glass, pipes, rocks or wherever it is growing. If I can I will try to get a photo.

What color is it? Is it Fuzzy? It could be what they call "Red Turf Algae".

I would love to know what it is and what could be causing it. I will test my NO3 and PO4, just to be sure. But my NO3 was 0 about a week ago.
