aqua c or asm ?

I am looking for some info on a new skimmer I am thinking of going with either a aqua c or a asm any feed back would be great
or what do you prefer

the new tank I will be setting up will be 450+ GALLONS FULL REEF

ASM hands down. Great skimmers.

Current Tank Info: 150g. DAS Oak Aquarium, 3 250w. Reeflux 10k on Coralvue Dimmable E-ballasts, 150lbs. Live Rock, DAS EX-2 Skimmer, Remote Deep Sand Bucket, Reefkeeper 2, 10 gallon fuge, 2 Vortechs, Coralvue Dual Chamber Calcium Reactor, Coralvue Kalkwasser Reactor.

On 450G? I'd look at a Deltec, H&S or Euroreef.

i dont like the Aqua C 1000 i have on a 300 that much. the foam is very unstable IMO. 70% of the waste seem to end up on the neck as scum. ASM are ok, but in that catagory the octopus NW-200 is a much better value, on par in performance with asm G-4. At $200 id put three on a 450. but if you have the bucks Deltec, HS, Euro Reef, or my fav BK. Octopus is supose to come out with a 12 Daimeter skimmer with three pumps at the end of this month. im guessing it would be in the $500 range.

ASM is a better skimmer than The Aqua C. For that big of a system a G6 would get it done but run you around 700. Might look into that 12 inch beast from RO.
