Cool lights and color

im not quite sure how all those different colors and kelvins will look in my tank, 10000,14000,20000, actinic, daylight, etc. so, could you help me out by posting pictures of your t5s or halide shining and tell the color temp. thanks!

The photos will be useless.... to may variables to content with. (room lighting, camera settings, image editor settins, monitor settings, windows settings, and a few dozen other things.


Your best bet is to visit an LFS that has a good selection of lighting over their tanks... .or take a tank tour via your local reef club.

10,000 is fairly yellow.
14 whitish blue
20 very blue
actinic purple blue (depending on the type) or similar to a blacklight, daylight
daylight... white (could be towards yellow or blue depending on bulb)

I would tend to agree, there is only about a million things that can influence a PIC.

I believe the white balance was set correctly for each picture. It may not look like that in real life, but it should be a good indication.
