cleanup crew
I've been making some serious changes to my aquarium this summer since Im going to university next year and will only be able to see the tank a couple times a week.
So I took back all my fish excluding two damsels, (who I only need to feed once per week) and basically now just have an "empty tank" that I want to convert into a cowlr (corel only) tank. The tank is 50g with around 80pnds lr. based on the fact that i wont be feeding very often at all, what kind of cleanup crew should i have? Right now I have a few hermits and snails but not much more. Obviously it would make sense to scale back the cleanup crew if the bioload is reduced but Im not sure how much I need. I was looking at "package three" on this site:http://www.jlaquatics.com/static/livestock/janitors.htm Thanks, andrew |

I think that would be overkill. Maybe I'd go for 3-4 cerith and 3-4 Trochus for starters, and add snails on an as-needed basis.
I never stock crabs or hermit crabs any more because I got tired of the predation.
