Sequence Hammerhead or 5800-SW for closed loop manifold?

The tank will be 575 gallons, total volume approximately 725 gallons. I will have two closed loop manifolds around the top perimeter of the tank aka "Calfo Manifold". I don't know what diameter the pipes will be yet. (I need help deciding, perhaps 2 1/2"). The intake to the pumps will be drilled through the tank and the pumps will sit on a shelf close to the intake to eliminate head loss. Each loop will have 25 Tees. I will be using two pumps to run each tee since I read you can two or more together in parallel. I am hoping to circulate 11,000 gallons through each loop.

Questions:

What are the differences between the Hammerhead and 5800-SW?

Which would work better for this application?

How much head loss will I have running them through the manifold?

Would 2 1/2" pipe work be the right size considering the high flow going through the manifold?

Thank you.

Does anyone know what the difference is between these pumps?

I dont know a ton about those two, but if you're willing to run multiple pumps, a couple of darts will give more flow for less electricity.

+1. Plus two darts would be pretty quiet. One hammerhead is really flipping loud

I had a barracuda for a return pump and it was an energy hog and a noise maker. I do however, have a dart for a closed loop and love it!

At 0' of head a Hammerhead draws a whopping 370 watts and moves 6,000 gpm. 1480 watts going 24/7 will draw 1081 kWh/month. I don't know what you pay for a kWh but I've got a pretty good rate at $0.07515/kWh. At my pretty good rate that closed loop setup would cost $81.25 a month to keep running!

If you went with the Darts instead it would take 6 to move your target of 22,000 gph so 3 CL manifolds each with 2 Darts. A Dart at 0' of head draws 140 watts so that would be 840 watts 24/7 or 614 kWh/month. Again at my rate this would cost $46.11 a month to keep going. So the Darts will save you 241 kWh/month and move the same amount of water again at my rate this saves $35.14/month.

Premium Aquatics has the best prices on Sequence Reeflo anywhere on the net and 4 Hammerheads will run you $1119.80 while 6 Darts will run $1199.70 so it will cost an extra $79.90 to purchase the Darts. This extra initial investment pays out early in the 3rd month and by the end of the first year has saved $341.75 when you factor in purchase price and operating costs. Each year there after you save $421.65 by running the Darts.

That is the long way of saying +1!

Thank you, thank you (bowing down with hands waving in the air ; )
I was actually very concerned when I figured out the electrical cost. It would cost me about $65 a month to run the manifold which I wasn't too thrilled about. I did not consider the Darts. Since I want only two loops I am going to check and see if I can run three in parallel.
Thanks again.
