What additives do you use, and why?
Hi. I have a FOWLR that I am slowly but surely making into a reef (planning to keep anemones, LPS, and eventually SPS).
Which additives do you use? And why? For instance, if I am already using calcium, iodine, stronium, and magnesium, do I still need to use kalkwasser, etc? Also, is there anything I should stay away from? -Tony |

I only use kalkwasser and RO water. The rest is in the salt mix and replenished with water changes

I've just switched over to using a kalkwasser drip. I've been using a dKH buffer in the past. Not sure if I'll still need to or not. Depends on what the test kits say.

Jefferson, the kalkwasser only stabilizes the calcium/alk in your tank. You can add the other stuff if you choose to, but I would not add anything without first testing for it, to see if you need to add some, ... |
