current usa outer orbit

can i change the light bulb to others brand like XM?

if i have the fixture that come with 175 watt bulb. can i run it with 150 watt?
i know i can't run it with 250w bulb.

150W is DE (double ended) bulbs. 175W are SE (mogul) bulbs. You'll be hard pressed to fit a DE bulb into an SE socket, though most ballasts will run both fine.

Are you talking the DE 175? If so then you CAN run the 150 watt lamp but believe it or not it will be underdriven by the 175 watt DE ballast due to differences in the operating voltages.
