Salt Mixing ?

I use IO brand for my tank salt. After mixing it in big rubbermade bucket for a few days I get chaulky build up on it.. is this anything to be worried about.. I use RODI water so I know its not coming from that. I have noticed this in the last few buckets.. anyone else having this?

The white chalky build-up is just calcification. You can soak the pump and bucket in a diluted vinegar solution to remove.

have you tested ALK & calcium levels? REEF-ON!

Thanks raddogz I will try the Vinegar to clean it up

reefnetworth.. I have elevated Calcium .. but not bad levels. I bought the Jakarta LR from the LFS up here.. really happy with it.. Have seen some other Fiji LR that was up here at the same time.. just really big soft balls with no nocks and crannies to look in.. really exciting (yawn)
