Zoanthus sp. Polyp Rock ?

I have a question on zoanthus sp polyps...Will they spread on any sort of surface rock or should the rock be porous? I have a rock i would like to start some on but its very smooth will that make much a difference or should i try scoring it up

The surface wouldn't make any difference. It'll spread on either a more or less smooth surface or rough surface.

The zoos will grow a "mat" which.. when they retract at night you should be able to clearly see .. Keep an eye on it- it will attach itself to nearly anything.. I have a small frag with lots of open space around hte polyps and its growing rapidly.. the mat seems to spread out first before a polyp will come out of it.

Just be patient and make sure it looks happy and it'll grow where it'll want
