Eheim Pump help needed
Hi, I just got my new Eheim 1250 pump, and I have a couple of questions.
1. I see that you can screw it down, but Im putting it in a glass sump, and it seems it would scratch the bottom or rattle. How do you fix this? 2. My hose fits on the nozzle up to the threading, but the screw thing doesn't sheath over my hose. Is this a problem? or can I just put a clamp on instead? 3. Does the magnet come out for cleaning , if so how do you get it out, its got a stong hold on it. 4. Does Eheim have a good web site, the .com one is no help at all. 5. thankx

Set the pump on a mousepad ($2 from a computer store) or a rubber pad ($10 at LFS). Works wonders.

A ziploc full of sand will work better, and is a much safer option. |

I have some airline tube lying around so thats the best mod I have ever been helped with, quickest + cheapest. thankx
The outer diam. hose is now 5/8 and it fits like a charm! thankx My impeller came out in pieces, all seperate, not like all my MJ + filter impellers, Is this normal? Thats why I couldn't get the magnet out its in there by itself

What do you mean your impeller came out in pieces? That doesn't sound right! Here's a picture of my 1250 with the impeller removed. My impeller is one piece. All of the parts are here except for the standard hose barb attachments (I'll be hard plumbing my pump with metric pvc fittings). Oh yeah, the rubber grommet from the end of the shaft is stuck in the impeller cover (far right), so it's really not missing. It's just not on the end of the shaft as you might expect.
I think everything else has been properly covered. Good luck.

Be careful hard plumbing the Eheim or Ocean Runner pumps. The impeller cover with the suction connection is held in place by the lock ring shown in your photo. I had one come apart with an instant flood. I have used zip ties to try to prevent the lock ring from turning, but I still don't trust it externally. R

When I first took it apart the shaft came out, and left the magnet still in its housing.
I figured it out now It just threw me off when the shaft came out with nothing attached.
