Occassionally people get a bad egg and they will eat zoanthids and yellow polyps, but iit's not often.

yeah never seen that before or heard of it. you dont happen to have a decorator crab in the tank. That was my culprit for miss zoas.

I haven't had any trouble with peps eating zoas either. I put a new rock with blue mushrooms and some very tiny zoas. 2-3 shrimp have been all over the rock for the last 2 days but haven't bothered the mushrooms or zoas.

I got 2 to get rid of aptasia, they never touched the apt.
They did pick at snails and my colonies though. I caught one in a trap, and now the other won't go near the trap! I'm not a big pep fan anymore.

i can see them picking at the zoas, but i don't know if they are eating it or stealing food from it. it causes the zoas to close up and they don't bother it anymore afterwards...so idk.

i have seen it
i had about 6 peps in my last tank and they were very aggresive. they would pick at my zoos, even when the zoos closed up. I would catch them sticking thier pincers in the holes after the zoos closed up and rip my zooes inside out. They did the same with my blue carpet :/
Well after that incident, i removed all the peps from my tank. |
