Question how to propagate mushroom corals or dividing mushrooms

Hello
I have a 30 gal nano reef ( w 20 lbs rock) I mostly have mushrooms in there .. Reds green stripped, green/brown spotted and huge hairy mushrooms. The rock is just about covered with them and I was wondering is this a bad thing and should I start dividing them and putting them in my 55 gal. ( i have some in there already. Some of the hairy mushromms are starting to cover rock that have zooanthids and polyps . Is that ok.
And if not what is the best way to take them out of the tank. Break the rock there on?? Take them off completely. Ive never done this before
Thank Casey
