Exclamation gbta hit the powerhead!

Is it releasing toxins into the water?

Probably, but it's more a question of how much and how strong they are. As anemones go, BTA stings are pretty weak. Was the entire anemone sliced up, or just a few tentacles?

I once had a post-split RBTA destroy all of his tentacles and oral disc in a Tunze Stream. I removed the remaining anemone base, and siphoned out little bits of rose-colored tentacle tips that were rolling around on the bottom. My skimmer runs wet and there's always carbon in the sump. There were no ill effects in the tank.

I just had a RBTA meet up with my new Vortech. Totally shredded to nothing with very little evidence left and the tank is perfectly fine.

I had a BTA get stuck in a MJ 1200. It was sucked through the grate on the intake and 3/4 up the tube. It clouded my water pretty bad.

I did a 20 gallon water change (75 gal. tank) and everything was back to normal a few days later.

The larger the tank (more water volume) the less effect it will have. What size tank do you have
