blown blue wave?

it seems as though 1 half of my 2x250 bluewave ballast just pooped out...i noticed the bulb flickering and dim, and then a very electric burned up smell...anybody got any experience with this? it is a bit old...3-4 years i think....could be 5 any help?

Power it down. Let it cool, then open the case. You hopefully will be able to tell visually what one is bad. Try to get some numbers off of it brand and model and contact a local electric supply house. They should be able to help you out. I had to replace a ahmilton reefsun enclosed ballast two years ago. No problem, just watch what wire goes where and you wil be back up an running.

thanks for the help...apparantly we don't fix stuff anymore...just buy a new one...4 different electrical shops say we don't evevn sell parts..."but i have a new kit you can buy!"

You just need to replace the ballast or capacitor. It can be done. You can get different ballast brands that will work.

I think the SLS has a pretty long warrenty... call them.

I think my BlueWave 4's have a 5 year warranty.
I'd give them a call.
