help with finale sump design

ok, this is my finale sump, im looking for the last bits of input. this will be the sump for my new 125, i am makeing it out of my old 55. its demensions are 48" long by 12" wide by 18" high. i will be using the octopus NW 200 with a foot print of 11 by 15 and the return pump will be the Mag 18 with a foot print of 7 by 5. i will have twin corner overflows, one running right into the Fuge, where there will be 6 inches of sand and 6 inches of water, filled with chaeto. the refugium will flow over the slanted baffel to help reduce microbubbles. on the other side i will have the Skimmer, this will also be where i feed the majority of my flow, so i made sure my buble trap would be nice and high. i am looking for any and all sugestions. a couple things i am worring about are............
1) will i be turing over the tank to fast with a mag 18 and 5 to six feet of head on a 125
2) is my bubble trap going to get ride of all of the micro bubbles
3) will i be kicking up a sand storm in my fuge

Mag18 at 5 to 6 feet of head would give 1125 to 1200 GPH. Are you relying on that one pump to provide all the flow in your display? If you're going to have powerheads or a closed loop in your main tank, then I think the return pump is overkill. The typical recommendation for a return pump is 3-5x volume. Going with a smaller return pump will give a quieter and cooler system with less microbubbles.

finally, here is the sump, im not sure how high my bubble trap baffels have to be, so those are still in debate, everything else is pretty much finale

Why such a big return pump? How do you plan on plumbing it?

i was told you want to turn over the tank 10 times, is that to much, a smaller pump would be nice, what would i need on a 125 with 5 feet of head?

You want at least 10x turnover in the display, but that should not come from the return pump. Rule of thumb is more like 3 -5x. For a 125, thats 375 - 675 GPH. I like Eheim pumps since they are extremely quiet, handle head much better than other submersibles, and are also extremely reliable. An Eheim 1260 would be great fro that setup. I think you could get away with a 1262 if you want stronger flow since the sump is pretty big.

What are you doing with the tank? SPS?LPS? My 125 was ran with an 800gph pump and 1200gph between 4powerheads(wavemaker) and that worked well. My 180 has 2 1920gph pumps and the SPS love it!

?#3 You can control where the flow goes. I usually plumb the drain low, and 90 to the front of the sump with apiece of pipe with holes drilled in it. Then bury it with live rock.
