How to adjust a H&S skimmer?

I have just bought a H&S 150-2001 skimmer. I live in Japan and of course all the instructions are Japanese.

I was hoping someone here could help me.

I have set the thing running in a bath and it all seems to be working except, there are only very large bubbles. How do you adjust the unit for fine bubbles?

On the outlet side of the skimmer there is a tee piece standing on its end, the base of the tee is paralell to the tank and I am sure is the outlet. The top of the tee appears to be some sort of water level adjuster. Is the top of the tee open to the air at all times and do you fit a pipe on to the outlet?

Do you have it in saltwater? It won't function properly if it is in freshwater.

I'm not jealous of your skimmer - I am jealous that you live in Yokohama; awesome city!! The beer gardens near the Landmark Tower are my favorite places to go.

I can see the landmark tower from my apartment, yes it is a lovely city. I have lived here before and I love the place.

LOL. I would hope that is where it is going What he was saying is that if while in your bathtub, it is running in freshwater, you will not get small bubbles. Only when it is being run in salt water will you get the small bubbles.

Otherwise I think the links posted above will get you down to business in no time. Good luck and nice skimmer!

Oh god, how stupid I was. Yes it was in fresh water, it was just a trial. I will try to remember to add salt before I add the fish

Yeah, Yokohama is a great city. I stayed around Hongodai station for a few months last year.

I really like northern Japan. And of course Tokyo

Cheers,

I'm glad you got things squared away.

Jim

Thanks for the help, I downloaded the pdf manual on there, basically it is rubbish. The English is very bad and it has no detail at all.
