Noisy Sump!!!
I have a 75gallon with an overflow box going down to a sump, when the water gets down to the sump it just splashes around creating a good amount of air bubbles, i used a sock to lesson the noise and the bubbles but i really dont want to leave the sock there due to water quality issues. I have read that people use rocks to lesson the bubbles will any rock large enought due? and what about the splashing?

if the noise is to much why not restrict the water flow back to the tank in turn restrcts the flow back to the sump
rocks work and submerge the pipe and put a few 90s on it under water to get rid of some of the bubbles
