thoughts on dwarf angels
I have a 90 gallon with a pair of clowns, a watchman gobbie, two chromis, and a royal Gamma. (also a coral bandit shrimp, a cleaner shrimp and the normal assortment of snails, sifter star fish & crabs.
Will it be too much to add a dwarf angel? I do have some soft corals, and I know they can sometimes "nip" What are your thoughts on a coral beauty or a flame angel? Are either of these more compatable or easier to keep? I would love to hear about your experiences keeping either of them |

Hit or miss with the Centropyges. My Coral Beauty has never nipped on anything, and the Flame Angel I traded away was also a model citizen. But it's pretty much 50/50. You may attempt to prevent altogether or minimize 'nipping' by making sure your angels are properly fed. They will graze on live rock nevertheless.

IMO it's worth the risk. I have a flame, a CB and a white tail pygmy in my 65g and, so far, all are behaving. I did have to move an open brain out of the tank because they were picking at it, but they leave my other LPS and softies alone. If it's a choice between the two, I'd go with a flame -- there's no substitute for that flash of red/orange in a reef, they're just breathtaking

I have a flame and a potters in a 125 with a pair of clowns, yellow tang, 5 chromis, and bunch of shrimp. The flame nips at the corals sometimes but I have enough mature corals that it does not bother me too much. I have never seen the potters nip at a coral. But like you said, its always a gamble with angel's and corals.
