Pump to PVC fitting...help

I have a Ocean Runner 2500 return pump.

Don't want to use the small barb fitting that came with it, but go directly into a 3/4 in pvc ...can't find threads that match.

Noticed the threads on the Ocean Runner are not standard ....when I went to the hardware store they couldn't find any threads that matched.

Will I need to go to a Plumbing Supply store ?? What should I ask for ??

Also, what is the best way to "interupt" the 3/4" with vinyl tubing to reduce vibration ?? I'll use a union, just wondering if I should just clamp the vinyl ???

Any help is much appreciated.

Not intended to be rude ...but try reading the INSTRUCTIONS!
A 30 sec. google search will answer all your questions.....

How does this help ??

I know it's a 3/4" fitting.....but the threads do not match...they are not standard. I took it to several hardware stores and they could not match the threads.

All 3/4" fittings do not have the same threads.

anyway you might be able to cut the barb off and then mod the with standard PVC. My only guess is that it has metric treads. Try calling the company and see if they have an adapter.

I ran into the same problem a couple weeks ago. I tried to put the pvc over the barb fitting and glue it in place. Dont waste your time, if you dont want to use the barb fittings return the pump. Thats what I had to do. good luck

Here is a number for OR parts--970-461-0023
I tried Teflon tape and a standard 3/4 thread PVC fitting and broke the little outlet off the pump. Be careful the piece that comes out of the pump is a fine threaded adapter that converts it to almost 3/4" pipe thread. I replaced the piece, but I wouldn't trust in except in a sump or for water mixing. R

Why don't your use the 3/4" barb, use a few inches of Spa-Flex hose connected to the barb, the other end of the Spa-Flex, you can just use standard PVC fittings...this will also help with vibration dampning....but page three of the instructions tells how to hook up the pump directly (but not recomended) to PVC....
