DSB question??

I have a 30G hex, and I am going to use 3in of caribsea arogonite, is that enough? Also since you never clean the sand, will stuff just rot down there and release phosphates?? Thanks

It's not considered a DSB until it is 4 inches in depth or greater. Any less than that and it really does not operate as a DSB. Because the tank is so small I would not recommend a true DSB. I would do a shallow sand bed.

Regards,

Pat

Oh ok, then right now the sand is about 1 1/2" deep. Is that good enough?
