I have a new tank set up with 100 lbs of live rock, 60lbs of sand lights off every thing is running well about a week. but i have tons of bubbles sticking to the back of my tank is this normal. I also have been running my skimmer for 3 days but it is not producing any bubbles should I have this on or off during cycle period. rock has been cured for 4 weeks.

perfectly normal. Whenever i buy a new tank or use one that hasnt been used for a while i find that theres always a ton of bubbles sticking to the glass. I call it the tank break in As for the skimmer...give it a week. All skimmers need a break in period, which generally takes about a week. It will be making a lot of bubbles in the tank right now probably, which will also get cut back once the skimmer starts working right.

just give it time
hth

It's very normal. Until everything slimes over in the tank you will have bubbles. And might have some after that too. The skimmer should start kicking in soon. What skimmer is it? It takes a while for them to go through their break-in period.

lol yep that seems to happen to me quite often lol. I just forgot the slime coating part...but ya, i'm pretty sure that IS what causes the bubbles to go away. I dont know of anything else that would...
