Kalk reactor
I was wondering if I need a kalk reactor for my tank since I got a calcium reactor on it. Since then my pH has been hovering around 7.8-8.0 I know ocean water is about 8.4 so I was also wondering if thats going to be a problem. I would rather not have to get my Kent aqua-doser out since I could never get that thing working correctly.
Thanks |

Maybe, but have you tryed every thing else first. How big is your tank? Maybe you could back off the drip rate. Is your effluent 6.5, if its lower than that, cut back on your CO2. Try blowing off your CO2. You could run it through your skimmer or a second chamber. Keep your SG around 1.026.
I run about 30 dKh at 6.5 going into a 150 gallon tank. My tank is 400 ppm calcium at 11.5 dKh and my pH stays at 8.3 during the day and 8.1 at night. Mike |
