ro unit

i have hard a lot of people say that a ro unit is a very important peace to have. i have a 12inch carbon filter and the place that i got it from they say that it dose all what a ro unit dose so it is a ro unit. how good is this carbon filter?

Part of an RO system is carbon filtration. You would see a significant change in the water quality by employing a full RO and even better with RO/DI. Get yourself a tds meter and check the water quality yourself. If it reads 0, which most likely it won't (yet), then get yourself an RO/DI and be amazed.

DI means De Ionization. And TDS means Total dissolved solids. RO means Reverse Osmosis.

Simply put the DI and RO are forms of filtering water to its purest state. (that is about as simple as it gets) This is measured in units of TDS. A TDS of 0 is as pure as it gets.

There are several systems that employ a RO then DI filtration to get the water to a 0 TDS.

I would suggest doing a search on here for RODI and you will find all kinds of good information.

Yes you can put it on a hose pump. You can purchase an adapter for just such a purpose.
