Recomend a good chiller to me, 1/5th to 1/3rd HP

I am looking for a good chiller for my reef tank, I am looking to spend no more than $550 on the chiller. 1/5-1/3rd horse power will do.

priorities:

-Quiet
-dependable

thanks alot,

eric

Either one will be kind of small for 150gallon. I would look at a 1/2 horsepower or so.

I maintain a tank temp of 77 degrees in a room that is held as close to 75 as possible...the chiller runs a lot.

The system picks up more heat that one might give it credit for.

That said...be careful as this is a lot of $$$...don't undersize the chiller!!

BTW...mine is a 1/5HP Aqualogic titanium probe type on a 100g reef. It does cycle regularly to keep the tank temp at the setpoint. I have wished I'd have gone with a 1/4HP unit as I went with the tables that show the drop below ambient for a 100g tank...I think I slightly undersized mine.

I'm keeping it until it wears out...then I'll upgrade.
