Which Calcium Reactor To Choose, Decisions, decisions, decisions, 'please Help'........
hello fellow reefers, im in need of some advice on which calcium reactor to choose? i know there are alot of calcium reactors on the market nowadays. im gonna be running it on a 100 gallon reef for now but might be upgrading to a larger tank somewhere down the line in the near future so i wanna leave my options open as to get one thats good enough for around 300 gallons maybe, give or take? i want to have ease of use and not complicated at all, i know wishful thinking huh...well i know theres one maybe two at the most out there in the market that are dial in and plug and play right? for 1. please let me know why you think i should buy the one your refering to and also what does it do better than the others on the market. i kindly thank you all for helping me purchase my new calcium reactor...

I was in the same boat when I started looking also..decisions galore on here. After much reading and several suggestions I narrowed it down between Shuran and the GEO. After a few PMs from other members who really answered all my questions in detail I finally went with the GEO. It seemed to be the best at being plug and play after the initial set-up. It also seemed to have the most positive reviews from people on here.
There are many good ones out there and people are very happy with all brands but after researching some the GEO seemed to fit my criteria the best. I even just ordered the GEO Kalk (Nielson) reactor for my smaller tank after seeing the build quality of my GEO calcium reactor when it came.

I just installed an Austin Oceans MoCalc300 and couldn't be happier. AO is license-building Barr Aquatics designs and they are so good that people were waiting months and months to get them so Brent Barr licensed them to build for him.
It comes with everything you need (eheim pump that both circulates and feeds, all tubing, check valve), everything except you C02 tank/regulator. They even include a flow meter so dialing them in is a breeze. I had mine dialed by day 2. Co2 is obviously very effecient on mine because my ph hasn't changed at all in the month I have had it going. Its also built like a tank! Not the cheapest or most expensive unit out there but the features and quality are top notch. Here's a link http://www.austinoceans.com/products...alciumreactors James

Another nod to the GEO. Not that any of the others are a bad choice, as I'm sure they are all great. I think GEO should name his equipment after armored vehicles like M1A2 or Bradley; that is how well built they are.
