Help make a skimmer decision with me!

Im about to buy a skimmer and i just want everyones opinion before i swipe the card.. i dont wanna regret anything lol

My tank is a 90g RR that will have sps and lps.. several fish. DSB and il have a 55g refug

right now fish supply is having a sale for asm g3 for 260

my other choice is the tunze 9010 ( just a little bit more) at like 330

and a new choice i just found is the Euro Reef RS 135 which is 30 percent off at marine depot for 230 after discount

i dont know anything about the Euro reef skimmers..
ive heard they skim well.. but im looking for a plug and play type skimmer that is very quite

if yal can help me with my choice that would be awesome!

i have a tunze.

it skims like crazy (super foamy) and fits in my small sump. it is not as whisper quiet for me as others have implied, but it is pretty quiet.

very happy with it.

$230 is a VERY good deal for an RS135. Its a better skimmer than the ASM and it costs less. No brainer.

The ER is built a heck of a lot better than an ASM and the pumps are better. Overall design wise, they are very similar. I have no personal exp with the Tunze skimmer, but they are very good from what I read.

Cant help you there. Never heard a ER135. If noise is really important, I think I'd lean towards the Tunze. They are known to be very quiet. Be sure to get a quiet return pump too. I'd recommend an Eheim.

That 1262 is too big for a 90G. I have a 90G and use a 1260 which is great, but I wouldn't want larger. If noise was a primary concern, I'd use a1250.

The Sedra pumps that the ASM uses are not all that quiet either.

well after 5 feet it will be at about 400 to 500gph thats like a 4 or 5 turnover rate... soo id assum that it should be fine
and i heard all eheims are really quiet

ill prob just stay with the tunze and just kep savin

It will be a lot more than that. It will be more like 700 - 800 GPH. The 1260 is ~ 400 - 500 GPH. The Eheims flow a lot more than the specs show. Most people who get the 1262 regret it.

It depends who you bought it from. It should be no hassle from a decent vendor.

If the tank is right next to your bed, you should consider the 1250. Not that the 1260 is loud, but there would be less water moving through the plumbing and sump.

it feels weird that i herd such good stuff about all of them and now i here that people regret it.

Good luck with MD. I never had any good exp with them returning anything. They will probably whack you with a restock fee. I dont use them anymore, but hopefully, you will have better luck.

1262 is not a bad pump for a larger tank, but is too big for a 90G, especially since you are concerned with noise. 1260 is pushing it. but should be OK with a large sump. I really think the 1250 would be the way to go if you really want it quiet.

If you really want to keep the 1262, you can just put a valve on the output side and dial back the flow.

give deltec a try i love mine. no better skimmer on the market. kinda pricey but well worth the money

Deltecs are great. I like their quality and customer service. just not the price. If you have the money go Deltec. If not.......

ASM G-3....235........great skimmer.....since the EURO didn't fly take a look at it. It is about the same price.

My 1262 definitely moves some water. If I didn't have it split to the refugium I would be in trouble. You may want to try and exchange it and see if they give you any hassle. If they don't then you can exchange it for the 1250. If they want you to pay restocking and such then just dial back the flow like sjm817 said.
