so i was all ready to go and place my order from reeferrocks, and noticved they closed...that sux...really wanted 80 lbs of base from them but now i guess i have to find somewhere else...i dont like the look of hi rocks (highway concrete) and dont know anywhere else that has similar prices and quality...can anyone recommend anywhere thats close to the quality rock of reeferrocks??
please? this has really made me not happy... -b- |

just use all premium rock. it will work out much better for you

do you mean just use all live rock?? if so, because i have a hard time spending 800 dollars on rock when i can spend less then half that and in a years time have it be the same thing for the most part...

yeah I agree Weezel111. Not all of us can afford all live rock, and it doesnt make since to do it in the first place. Unfortunately hirocks.com also went out of buisness. Id recommend going with lace rock as base and the seed with live. Once covered you cant tell a diffrence.

lace rock? i presume you mean Base rock...hi rocks went out of business because their product was absolute crap...it was like chunks of highway...thats what it looked like to me...
any one else have any recommendations on where to get "reefer rock" quality base rock now? |

no I meant lace rock. Type of rock that ive seen alot of reefer use. Its light and porous.

I use lacerock and once liverock seeds it... it will look just like liverock.
