Spring water would work. Never tried of heard of Sparkletts so couldn't tell you. Btw, if you plan to use bottles water for awhile, just invest in a ro/di. You'll save alot more over time.

I have a unit, but my wife HATES all that "water I waste", and wants me to spend the extra money to not have to have all that water going down the drain.

Water the plants with it? Dump it on the lawn? Give it to the dogs? Dump it in washing machine? Just some ideas.

IMO, spring bottled water is a NO-NO. Most grossery stores have distilled water or RO filtered water you could get. Also, check your LFS, they probably sell RO water too.

I would say that .50 at the LFS per gallon is better than a dollar or 2 a gallon. Just my 2 cents worth.

.50 cents for a gallon of distilled water at WAL-MART! Our your LFS could be selling RO/DI for cheaper, My LFS sells there RO/DI water for $1.00 for 5gal.

Agreed, just make the waste water line go into a bucket instead, well in your case with a lot of water maybe a big toat.

I use Distilled Water (Sodium Free). Get it at Wal-mart for like $0.67 a gallon. Works great and have been using it for years....

It takes about 5 gal of water to make 1 gal RO/DI. At most water co. that adds up to about 5¢ per gal. Store prices are about 50¢ to 85¢ per gal. Even with the cost of filters you still save more than half the money doing it your self, and if its the waste of water, even if you buy the water they wasted the same to make the water you buy. So why not save the money your self.
