powerhead sand storm

I just had really bad luck and had 2 powerhead fall and disturb the sand and cause a really bad sandstorm. Most things got stress out and released their spider web things all over the rocks.

Question is, will this storm or web harm my zoas, fish, or cause a spike in NH4?

They should be ok. I've had powerheads drop and I just took a turkey baster and blew the excess sand off the corals and they all fared just fine. I'm sure they get sandblasted more than once in the ocean.

I would either use the over-the-lip hooks they came with or get you some magnets to keep them in place. Any powerhead suction cup is destined to fail.

That was my biggest pet peeve about powerheads, always falling off the glass. another thing was not being able to direct them where their needed, Now I'm sure their starting to figure this out. That's one of the reasons I bought my TUNZE'S - the heavy duty, planet pulling mega magnets. I can move these things around the entire tank, detritus has nowhere to hide.
