Question Krylon Alternative?

I've looked at the majority of hardware stores in my area and have been unable to find a can of Krylon Fusion.

Is that the only type of paint that is safe to use?

The stores I was in carry RUST-OLEUM Paint for plastic.

What parameters should I be looking for?

Here is the MSDS Sheet if that helps - http://rustoleum.com/techdocs_msds_display.asp?MSDS=962

I've heard that it was safe to use, but I've never used it. I've always used Krylon Fusion Spray Paint. You can even find it at most WalMarts. I've never found it at Lowe's, and to be honest I've never looked for it in a Home Depot.

In the immediate future, just the back of a 10 gallon.

But it will eventually be used on the back (two sides) of my 92 gallon corner.

Maybe some additional equipment farther down the road.

If you are just painting the back or sides of your tank, then ANY paint will be fine. I've heard of oil based paints attacking the silicon seals though, so be aware.

I just painted the back of my 90g last night with Behr interior/exterior hi-gloss paint. I rolled it on after masking off the edges where I didn't want paint. It took about 8 coats, but it looks awesome. All eight coats were able to be applied in one evening. I had a fan blowing on the paint so it dried fast between coats. Because the glass is smooth, the paint looks perfectly smooth when looking through the tank, but from the outside of the tank it might look different from roller marks or brush marks.

Make sure you clean the glass surface though. Rubbing alcohol is good to use.

The color I chose was Midnight Blue.

Found it, Wal-mart had it in a different section of the paints; not with the other spray paints.
