Pump suggestions

I am going to buy a return pump so I can set up a 10g sump my 20g. I will be using a HOB (u-tube) overflow. I currently have one MJ1200 which I have on a hydor FLO attachment. I am planning on a mostly softie with a couple (low light) LPS.

Any suggestions on what to get? Should I get a large pump and split the return two ways? or maybe attach a SCWD wavemaker? Or any of those little things I may have not considered?
