g3 going wild
all of the sudden today my asm g3 started going wild its just skimming out a ton of foam and the cup overflows within a minute.. a lot is also coming out of the riser tube i dont know what the deal is.. i put the riser tube all the way down and it fills up within a minute you acn imagine what happened when i had the riser tube up.. all parameters are in check and it is in about 10 inches of water...
help quick lol

Did you recently put in Chemiclean or some other cyano fix it? Or, put some new frags in with epoxy?

i did the 2 part epoxy to attach some frags any advice on what i can do to get it up again?? should i just wait or is there something i can do?

Just leave it run. It should go away in a few hours. Clean the cup out, take the lid off and just let if flow over the sides.

Yeah, epoxy will make any skimmer go wild! I'd just turn it off for a few hours.

i woke up this morning and tried the skimmer and its still doing it!!!i thought that over night would be plenty of time. any other advice on what it may be??? i just added refugim plants as well yesterday, could they do anything?? my paremeters are still perfect so im not to worried yet.. should i do a small waterchange or what? ? thanks in advance

its been over 24 hours and its still skimming like crazy any other suggestions im beginning to think there is another problem

Nah, there isn't another problem. Epoxy will do that to your system. If you want, you could do a water change. If all the corals look fine, then you should be ok. I wouldn't worry about it.

yeah everything is fine. i did a 10% water change. i guess ill just try it every day until it works

When I use epoxy I hook the skimmer drain up to a larger external container to catch all the mess. I haven't had great luck with the epoxy. It holds--kind of. R

did you just put a poly filter in? sometimes it take a little longer to settle out depend on your water quality... if all criters look OK give it another 24- 48 hrs.

everything looks fine.. i added activated carbon 2 days before it started doing this so i doubt that had any affect

just do large water changes and use activated carbon.

thats why i let the glued frags sit separately out of tank in a bucket for a couple of hours before putting them back into the display
