I am a freaking idiot...

I need Help... I am Currently building my 20 gallon sump/fuge. and I want to add a 5 gallon bucktet remote DSB. Can Someone Explain to me(pics would be wonderful) What goes where and where the water flow would go

I want to go Overflow to the 5 gallon DSB then to the protien skimmer into the sump/fuge then back up to the tank.

Am I thinking Straight or is the salt water really eating away at my brain???

im voting for [eating away at my brain] lol

keep it simple and patients

if your fuge is big enough you wont need a RDSB to handle your nitrate woes

personaly i would go straight from your overflow to your skimmer first. you want the raw water from the displays surface getting to the skimmer first. as well the skimmer will clean some of the stuff out of the water before it can get trapped in the sand adding to the nitrate volume.

my 2 cents

put a baffle in the fuge large enough for your skimmer and return pump on one side, place sand and (my favorite) chaeto in the other. your input (H2O) enters the sandbed/fuge, overflows into the skimmer section, and returns back to main/display. if you place cheato in the sump you will greatly reduce nitrates. cheato loves ammonia and nitrates. i would also suggest a "growlight" from wally-world on a 24-7 photoperiod. clip-on holder and a 60w lamp will be enough light. hope this helps, have a great day and good luck!

Current Tank Info: SPS dominated barebottom display with BB sump since 2005, most consistant parameters in 19+ years of reefkeeping.

I have a small fuge and i am not sure i will be able to put in the dsb that i want in there... i already have some cheato someone gave me. But the problem now is that I am going to have to move the whole tank just to get the overflow behind the tank and the fuge into the stand...arughh
