live rock and dead rock
so ive got a whole heap of old ocean rock laying around and my live roack is comminig next week - but i was wondering whether i can mx the two (live rock and ocean rock) i know theres an obvious answer - i just cant figure out what it is!!!!

should be fine, just make sure the rock you have does not contain contaminents and so on. Eventually the dead/base rock you have will be seeded by and become live rock.

various places - even some old frreshwater tanks - its been cleaned and cleaned though - or at least it seems to be clean...

You also might want to watch/test for phosphates and silicates on those dead rocks. It created some hair algae in my tank before. Something to watch for.

Also be sure there was'nt any meds used on it like copper.
