Ground Probe

Are these things for real. How can a hermetically sealed pump/ power head blead off current without causing death.

There are lots of things that can give off stray voltage, pumps, lights, heaters come to mind.
The voltage may not cause death, but I guarantee that the first time you put your hand in your tank and get zapped, after you get up off the floor and shut everything in your tank off, your next thing will be adding a ground probe.
Just my two cents...

You need to hook the ground probe up properly as well. Ground fault interrupters are a necessity.
