LR Hitchhikers Help!!
Bought a nice small piece of LR and noticed it has several hitch hikers. There are 4 Anemonies. They do not appear to be the evil ones (aiptesia). The LFS has them living in thier display tank and he tells me they are "good" anemonies. They are about 1/2 tall and an inch in diameter. Anyone know what they are?
Also I noticed on the same rock a round blob thing. Is it some type of coral? It does not seem to move. See pic below. Thanks!! Now the blob!

1. appears to be a majano anemone. often considered as bad as aiptasia.
2. looks like some type of ball sponge, but cant really say for sure.

Too bad they are considered pests. I kind of like em. I have read that if you put them in your refugium and you do not overfeed they do not reproduce quickly and are excellent natural filters. At this point I do not have any corals but plan on intruducing them (starting with pulsing Xenia) slowly over the next few months. I don't want to do anything to jepordize their success.
These little guys are only on one piece of small LR. Should I kill em or just remove the entire rock to my refugium???

I had an aptaisia problem, what I found that makes them pests from experience is that they multiply and quite quickly, also they can sting corals... I am sure mejano is the same way because they are both anenomes. I used joe's juice (basically calcium with surenge, $10) you squirt it directly on them and it usually kills them immediatly... I don't know if that helped, but good luck
