Exclamation Can Sohal Tangs stick out thier orange 'barbs'?

Can Sohal Tangs stick out thier orange 'barbs'? I noticed mine is sticking out on one side tonight and am wondering if this os something to worry about?

I don't own one but most tangs use it for defense.
Is he being bothered by anything in the tank?
Maybe thats why he had it extended.

It is still sticking out tonight...should I do something?

If it's acting normal and seems healthy other than the barb sticking out I would leave it alone.
You'd likely do more harm than good handling him anyway.
You could post it on the disease forum if your to worried about it.
