there must be some way to dismantle the sump, or at least pull out the return pipes and pull him out. I'm not familiar with your particular sump so I'm not much help.

I hope you can get him out!

the yellow goby, which this happened to awhile ago, was smart enough to swim to the top and go over the flow into the filter sock. He wasn't in there for long, maybe an hour before we found him. This booger though has been in there for nearly a month! I just found him today!!!

Is it the part where the plumbing is in the pic? If so, why cant you unscrew the bulkheads? I am trying to make it out with that pic. Can you send us a pic of yours and show us where they are located? Good luck.

i don't have a pic. but yes it is where the plumbing is. i only have one bulkhead instead of two like in that pic. it is such a skinny area that if I did detach the plumbing I have no idea how I would get it out anyway

I understand that now. I looked at the site better. The only thing I can think of is, drain the sump but save the water. Make sure there is still water in there for the fish. Unscrew the bulkhead and turn the sump upside down. Trying to get the fish out of the hole. Make sure you use new buckets or a trashcan. Do not use anything that had chemicals in it. Thats from the top of my head. If you look at it, you maybe able to do it better!

Also, email AGA. They may have a better solution. I thought they would have thought of that. My Damsel seems to love the thrill of the overflow into the sump. I put him back in the tank at least every few months. Keep me post!

Lol, well I was hoping I wouldn't have to resort to that. But my hubby and I have been trying everything. We've been trying to scare him to the top so that he goes over the overflow thingy. Thanks for your help

I just thought of something. Can you get any food in there? Maybe he will swim to the top for some food? And just maybe into the filter sock? It is just a thought.

I think you could bend a net every which way and snag his *** out of there---may take a hour though.

Take the bulk head out, get the biggest hose that can fit in there and siphon him out. Then work on you new sump.
