60 bucks is not the end of the world but I did not like the fact the guy could care less if I got money back or not.

I agree with you 100% It is the principal of the deal. Did he give you a tracking # to begin with or did he just tell you he was tracking it?

He gave me a trcking number. The bottomline is UPS screwed up and he did not care. All he had to do was file a complaint(I was told this by UPS)and he refused.

if it makes you feel any better it wouldnt have made a difference.... ups, fedex, etc dont cover live items and as far as they are concerned the item becomes perishable as soon as it hits their hands....
my onyx from rod was delayed because UPS assumed the address was wrong when i didnt put an apartment number (i was working the desk the day of the delivery, so i figured no apartment was necessary) and when i called to ask about it and explained the fragile and expensive contents of the box they said that it wouldnt be covered if it died. they were going to try and deliver it the next day until i *****ed my *** off

How do you know it was UPS's fault? Did they admit to screwing up?
If you have all of the UPS info in writing then paypal or Ebay will work things out with you and the a-hole seller. You may also want to sthart a thread in the vendor experience forum here. I do not know if anyone uses that forums but I tend to check before making a purchase. A lot of reefers use this forum and a few negative comments here is death for many merchants. Many of know each other via this forum and while many of us would hate each other in person on here we all tend to trust each other more than some comment on Ebay. Dave

File a dispute with paypal for non-receipt of goods. I've done this twice and received refunds both times. I thought I read somewhere in the paypal rules that unless the seller has a signature there is no proof of receipt.

Definately file a complaint with paypal. I have had two people try to rip me off on Ebay. They reversed the charges fairly quickly. I do a lot of selling and buying on ebay confidently because of the way paypal handled my issues.

He replied to your post on ebay. Said he offered you a refund. If that's true I would take it or reply to his post saying he never offered.

That's strange, I ordered a RO/DI filter from that seller a couple years ago... he seemed like a pretty helpful person. You'd think with as much as he sells on ebay he could at least file the shipping claim.. thats $45 of UPS's money... not his.

Ok everyone...sorry....I'm closing this now. This is truly and Ebay/PayPal issue and has nothing to do with RC. Take the issue to those channels, you've posted your issue here and it's done now.
Good luck in getting this resolved.
