Is there any reef safe clear sealant?

Besides an epoxy resin, is there any type of clear sealant that can be used INSIDE the tank? something like polyurethane?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Is the clear silcone used to hold the tank together poison?

You need to use 100% pure silicon, most of the stuff sold at the DIY centers is not, contains midicide etc which while kill fish and inverts, even after it is cured. Look for a package that states aquarium safe, if it does not state that then do not use it. Also, if you are working in a dry tank, you can use any of the epoxy systems as the cure to a non toxic bond. The best out there is made by 3M, fast cure time.

If you're looking at silicon, you can get a whole tube from your local hardware store. GE Silicon I: Window & Door (100% Silicon - Clear) is the exact same stuff as any of the commercial available "aquarium safe" stuff and at a fraction of the cost. A huge tube used in a caulking gun costs $3.97 from my local Lowe's

as stated silicone (100%) is reef safe once dried. also thier are epoxies that dry in the water without effecting tank inhabitants. again what do you want it for?
