anyone with personal info on this fish?
I am looking into getting this fish, a Potters Angel:
http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...pcatid=453&N=0 The LFS by my house has one in stock right now. It is housed with his soft coral (mostly zoo's and mushrooms). I have a 50 gallon pentagon with a clam, zooanthids, flower pot, open brain, leather coral. As far as fish, I have a lawnmower blennie, paired tomato clowns, chromis, fire shrimp. Is there any personal information that someone can give me about this fish as it is listed as 'expert only' on live aquaria (i.e. food, reef safe, temperment). Thanks in advance, Danny

Probally like any other pygmy or dwarf angel, I have three dwarf angels in my 125 and they are easy and model citizens.

no special feedings?
just trying to figure out why it's listed as 'expert only'.

From what I've been able to find, it is a MUST that they are able to graze. Plenty of algae, plenty of swimming room, and plenty of hiding places. I've also seen where cyclopeze is a good option to supplement with.

I bought one, and it died within the month because it would cower in the corner of the tank and not feed. I had a lot of live rock for him to graze, maybe it was because I had another dwarf angel in the tank. I have heard a few other comments about Potter's angels not adapting well to captivity.
Just my experience, if you are going to buy it make absolute sure that it healthy, eating prepared foods, and active. Maybe it will do well in your tank if you have a lot of rock and peaceful tankmates |

i had one for some time but lost it due to my heater over heating the tank.
lovely fish...make sure it's eating mysis or flakes at the fish store before purchasing. Usually if they aren't eating there they wont eat. they're fairly timid at first but once they get used to you they'll come out more. good luck.

very very difficult fish to keep. most dont make it past the acclimation process. they tend to get very stressed, very quickly. although normally if you can get past the acclimation, some do make it.
ive tried 2, both died, the second one before i even got him outta the bag. and only a few people ive talked to have been to keep them successfully. Some experts say they have a 90% attrition rate.. fwiw

i had one before... it died after 5 days... a couple of weeks later, i bought another one... it ate everything... flakes, pellets, frozen, cyclopeeze... had it for about 3 months, then all of a sudden it was dead... it died for no apparent reason... the night before it was very healthy... swimming around, pecking at rocks, and it even ate side by side with the percula clownfish...

Same for me, I tried one in July that eventually ate everything, but it died for no apparent reason last month.
