Im setting up a 58g FOWLR....have some questions
I am planning on setting up a 58g FOWLR tank. I will have about 30 lbs of live rock unless I can find some more locally really cheap. I KNOW this isnt going to be enough rock. Anyone know who sells good cheap baserock? I have been looking at Caribsea's Reef Bones base rock and I really like how it looks. The thing is I really would like to find it as cheap as possible if I can't find any other liverock. I have found it for 56.99 plus 10.00 for shipping ground which is a pretty good deal for 40 lbs. This is dry rock so I will be getting alot of rock and not the water weight, right?
I wasn't able to search right now due to the high server load on the site, but how is Caribsea's agramax sand? What about their agranite ultrapink sand? I want to do a shallow sand bed with it pretty fine in cause I decide to get a sand sifting goby. I plan to set the tank up with a HOB filter and a couple power heads. Yes yes, I know....HOB's aren't that great! I will upgrade to a canister filter or something more efficient over time. I should only do about 5-6 fish in this tank right? Just thought I would clear a few things up to help make up my mind! |

You will be good with the HOB with a FOWLR setup. 5-6, it Depends on the fish. What do you have in mind for livestock?

I am planning on a valentini puffer, and a longnose hawkfish. Maybe a lawnmower blenny. That is all I have decided right now.
After doing a lil research, I will probably get a protein skimmer instead of running a HOB or canister. Last edited by tslabaugh; 11/03/2006 at 03:48 PM. |
