Filter Socks with CSS
Hello all,
I have a small question re filter socks. I have a micro bubble problem and the filter socks seems to work very well. My question is would the filter sock catch more than the Skimmer? Is the filter sock catching more than my CSS? Do I still need the skimmer? thanks Buckaroo |

The answer is yes and no. While something like a 100micron filter sock can catch almost all the solids in the water that pass through it, the skimmer is designed to remove pollutants that have disolved into the water and therefore cannot be caught by the filter sock.
I run both a 100 micron filter sock at the end of my overflow, as well as euro-reef cs80 |

So you still get skimate?
That is was I wanted to know, thanks I was wandering if the sock actually removed proteins from the water? Buckaroo |
