how many fish and what kind do you have? If there is a lot of it that isnt being eaten, then maybe only do half a cube at a time. Also, be sure to rinse off the liquid that melts from the cube when you thaw it out. Otherwise you'll be adding a bit of excess nutrients (phosphates)

I would try to keep the partial cube frozen. Fish seems to spoil rather quickly in the refrigerator.

I don't rinse the food, being worried about losing water-soluble nutrients, etc.

I agree with Bertoni.

I do not use the cubes. I use the frozen bags of food. I break off a small piece, drop a couple drops of garlic on it, and then throw it in the tank.

Some fish are attracted to the taste. There are some claims that garlic kills a wide variety of diseases, but no evidence to prove it.

Next time you buy food don't get the cubes. Get the frozen packs with the zip lock backs. Then you break off just what you need as Pete1399 said. I would take what you don't use each and stick it in a ziplock bag and put it back in the freezer.

When "breaking" frozen food, I use a knife blade from a box cutter and tap it gently a few times with a hammer... works great, and you get as much as you want. Don't try to cut it with force from your hand... accidents will happen.

I make my own food from local fish markets, blending it up myself. Saves a load of money and the fish prefer it to anything I have gotten from the LFS.
