The new Urchin camo
I have a tuxedo urchin that is a happy lil critter with shells, chaeto, and a new addition to his camo that he carries.
About a week ago he became interested in picking up my small colony of zoas ( about 10-15 heads ) that had not grown attached to the rock it was sitting on yet. As you all know the urchin moves all over the tank. My question is this. I have a purple condy, 2 bta's, lots of mushrooms, a couple leather corals, a couple kenya trees, and an island of star polyps. Will any of those other items hurt the zoas if they come in contact with them? Or vice-versa? I dont particularly like the idea of the urchin carrying them around (and took the zoas away once), but the zoas seem to love it.. there have been more heads open at any given time and for longer periods than when they were sitting idle.. so who am I to judge... I just dont want them getting stung and permanently scarred. Thanks for reading! |

The anemones probably can kill the zoanthids on contact. Over time, the zoanthids might not do so well on the urchin, depending on how much light they get.
