Ca reactor question
Planning a DIY reactor and seeing two basic types, one where the pump outlet is to the bottom of the container, water flows up through the media and out the top. Other style is where water enters the top, drawn through the media and out from the bottom.
Think I see the advantage with pumping up from the bottom through the media as to prevent packing but seems there are a lot of commerical ones that the water enters from the top. Since I'll be making my own, I can route however I chose, but wondering is one better than the other? |

I have a MTC which is an excellent unit. Theirs pumps into the top of the first chamber with 1/2" pvc from a Blueline 20 pump, but also has a piece of 3/8" tubing that teels off the pump and goes into the bottom of the post reaction chamber.

Thanks Ken, so there's no clumping or packing of the media?
