Price is about average, they are a deep water fish (125' or more) and mine has been a great fish, if it is in an established tank and looks healthy, then it should be ok. They are also called a 5 band wrasse or spot tail wrasse, but the 5 bands diminish with age. I had mine for almost 2 years when it died during a tank relocation (temperature fatality, I think there was a wide swing during the 6 hour period)
Other than that they are a very animated fish and not very aggressive. If you have any aggressive fish in the tank, he may not do very well. He was always a great reef fish and never bothered any corals or other fish. He really was one of my favorites with my Purple Tang (they got along fine) They are a relatively new species for collection and also require special collection techniques (not to mention nitrox tanks for the diver) Prices were around $250-$300 but I have seen them down in the $125 range in the last 6 months click
