can i remove the UV Filter in my MH Fixture ?

i have a thick layer of plexyglass in my light fixture. is it safe to remove it to get more intensity ?

If it is a double ended bulb-NO it has to stay in place. If it is a single ended bulb(Mogul base) then yes you could remove the flat piece of glass, but the bulb is now at risk of getting splashed with water and possible breakage.

If you have the DE bulb, you NEED the UV filter or your corals will get serious SUNBURN.
